We are very proud of our Student Council in St. Mary’s Secondary School. Their contribution to school life is very valued and appreciated. The Student Council is a representative structure through which students can become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the entire school and its students. Each class group has a representative on the student council, thereby enabling all students to have a voice informing the direction of the development of their educational environment. Council members meet every two weeks at lunchtime. The Council puts forward the views of students on a range of school issues, and works with school management to promote a healthy and safe environment for all the members of the school community. A notice board in the school keeps all students informed about the activities of the Student Council.
The Student Council Aims:
- To promote an environment conducive to educational and personal development.
- To promote friendship and respect among students.
- To support the management and staff in the development of the school.
- To represent the views of the students on matters of general concern to them.
